[By virtue of being stranded alone with Nick as one of his only companions, Ianchus has grown somewhat used to his...alien appearance. This one, however, is entirely different, and his expression changes for a moment, that mingled surprise and unease. Dimly, he does notice the similarity to Nick, but the strangeness of what he's seeing.
But Ianchus is, at his core, the utmost of extraverts, and always open to meeting and understanding new people. He fixes his face into a smile--an honest one.]
[ It's alright, really. Everyone recoils at first, for one reason or another. Some because he's visibly inhuman, others because so damaged, but everyone reacts with vague negativity or shock. DiMA doesn't mind, and his voice is as patient and calm as it's been all along. ]
A pleasure to meet you, Ianchus Cepheos. You may call me DiMA.
If it's alright, I'd like to speak about my brother. Many here know him, so if you do and you find it uncomfortable, we can hang up now with no hard feelings.
It's fine, I suppose. I...[Didn't know that people like you had brothers] I'm not entirely unfamiliar with...the complications that come with siblings. [He laughs a little at that.]
I am uncertain, honestly. I think it is more accurate to say that we are twins, as we were created and brought online together. But to be very technical, Nick may be older. His mind is older.
[He says it airily, as if waving off the question while still giving some sort of an answer. He's not secretive, but he can dodge things he'd rather not talk about quite well.]
That said. Your older twin, then. That's fine. So! What troubles you?
[ Ah. DiMA blinks for a moment, clearly wanting to say something, but the man is so casual about it that he isn't certain whether it's a sore topic. "I'm sorry for your loss" may not be appropriate, so he just nods his component-topped head and lets it go. ]
I'm afraid... well. The main issue is that he does not remember me. May not accept or need me now that he has formed his own family. But he is very important to who I am, and my own identity.
And you can't simply...talk to him? He seemed...[Ianchus considers whether the word he plans to use is accurate or not, and decides, yes.] ...Kind enough.
My brother is a wonderful person, but he is also very private. I have been trying to talk to him. I've been making myself available if he wishes to speak to me, but I worry he does not.
Perhaps I should back off, you might say. I don't know how much to push, or if I did step away, whether he would ever choose to come to me with those he has here. I'm glad he has family, has made connections that mean so much to him. I just cannot help feeling... wistful, maybe?
Ah...that's understandable of course. [He gives DiMA a sympathetic smile. It's something he can certainly understand; funny how these beings' problems can be...so similar to peoples'.]
What has he said to you? When you've tried to talk to him.
Very little, honestly. He's told me plenty about this place, and about his memory issues that I knew already, but not much personal. Nothing that would indicate to me whether he'd like to pursue a relationship beyond my presence as any other citizen.
Mmmm. [He lets the breath out as a long, sustained sound through his nose.]
All I can think of is...ask him directly. Lay it out for him like that, like you told me. Tell him you're not sure whether his silence is him being private or busy, or, ah... [Or not wanting to talk at all. Not wanting a relationship for whatever reason.]
You really think that's best? That it won't be seen as a personal attack of sorts?
[ DiMA would hope that his nature, his intent, is obvious, but Nick doesn't know him. Might just assume the worst again. But he sounds hopeful that Ianchus would think that this tack would work. ]

That's not necessary. Ianchus Cepheos.

It wouldn't happen to be Nick Valentine, would it? Your brother, I mean. [Certainly, they have that same, uncanny way of moving.]

Yes, that's him. I understand if an existing relationship would make this awkward.

So, ah. Are you older? Younger?

[ DiMA considers the question. Hmm. ]
